What We Do

We help develop nature-based solutions that aim to promote sustainability within the community.

We consult with local landowners, businesses and municipalities on creating positive change by helping facilitate policy reform, conservation measures and protection of our natural heritage.

We’re a small team of passionate individuals dedicated to inspiring change by engaging the community in various activities geared towards maintaining and preserving the biodiversity in our region.

Our Projects:

Pollinator Conservation

Ardtrea Nature is currently stewarding multiple initiatives geared towards protecting pollinators and their habitats. Some of the projects include building pollinator gardens, restoring roadside forage; seeding or planting along roadsides or other right-of-ways. Utilizing vacant spaces in public parks to add value to local wildlife.

Invasive Species Management

Biological invasions are damaging to local ecosystems and impacts our recreational activities. These invasive species can cause significant economic losses which is why it’s important to have early detection measures. These invaders can be categorized as terrestrial invasive plants, aquatic invasive plants, invasive fish & invertebrates and forest pests or diseases.

Bat Monitoring

Bats across Ontario continue to face substantial declines due to White-nose Syndrome [WNS] and habitat destruction. Ongoing surveying and monitoring for local bat numbers in the region remain very important to researchers helping to protect any one species from extinction.
